Reading out lessons and stories to your child from books makes a significant difference. Good literature has an effective way of inspiring children to behave in a correct manner, to follow a code of discipline, and to maintain a positive outlook in life. Also, a reading habit will be great in the long run for your child’s intellect as well.

Reward Your Child inSchools in Gurgaon

It is always a great idea to reward your children for their good behaviour. This will keep them high spirited and will help them maintain their best behaviour at all times. Teach Responsibility

Teaching your child to be responsible is the first step towards ensuring that they grow up to be caring adults. Effects of Technology
Schools in Gurgaon

Schools in Gurgaon

Most adults around the world are hesitant to give children gadgets, such as tablets, phones or a PC. This is primarily due to the fact that children tend to get fond of such devices and get an addiction to them. Typically, teens use these gadgets to connect with their friends via social networking sites. And adults believe that it hampers their education and makes them stay at home for the majority of their time.

Moreover, giving youths access to these gadgets leaves them more vulnerable to cyber-bullying. When schools in Gurgaon are trying so hard to remove physical forms of bullying from their premises, there emerges cyberbullying. It is a whole new level of bullying itself. It is the only form of bullying which exists out of the school 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. This has made it harder to banish bullying in our societies, hence resulting in more psychological problems in the younger generation.

Also, over usage of gadgets not only weakens their thinking skills but increases their chances of becoming obese. This is an increasingly common problem in many youths in this modern age.

Nevertheless, there are some positive points to giving children access to these gadgets, too. Using technology, children can have access to an infinite number of online resources which are only for them. But, children don’t often realize this and hence tend to use them for socializing and wasting their time on other useless stuff. As said by the founder of Microsoft Corporation, Mr. Bill Gates: “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is very important.”

Research and its observation

, being one of the best schools in Gurgaon, realizes the need to integrate technology in the education systems. But many other schools in Indiado not realize this. Hence, there arises a need to change these education systems soon. Some schools are also incorporating video games as a part of their education systems.

In certain research in the Queen Mary University of London and the University College of London, 72 volunteers were recruited and got their ‘cognitive flexibility’ measured. It is a person’s ability to adapt and switch between tasks and think about multiple ideas at a given time to solve problems. Then, two groups of volunteers were trained to play different versions of a real-time strategy game, StarCraft. The players needed to construct and organize armies to battle an enemy. A third group played a life simulation game called The Sims, which does not require much strategy or tactics. The researchers had observed that those who had played StarCraft were quicker and more accurate in performing cognitive flexibility tasks, compared to those who had played The Sims.

Another Research

Dr. Brian Glass, a professor at Queen Mary’s School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, said that one previous research has also demonstrated something similar. The action video games, such as Halo, can also speed up decision making. But the current work finds that real-time strategy games can promote our ability to think on the fly and learn from past mistakes. “Our paper shows that cognitive flexibility, a cornerstone of human intelligence, is not a static trait but can be trained and improved, and improved using fun learning tools like gaming.” “Creative problem solving and ‘thinking outside the box’ require cognitive flexibility. Perhaps in contrast to the repetitive nature of work in past centuries, modern knowledge economy places a premium on cognitive flexibility”, said Dr. Glass.

Quite recently, Stirling University’s school of education had conducted some research. It said that the family’s attitude towards technology at home is one of the most influential factors governing a child’s relationship with it.

Research conclusion

The conclusion of the research was fairly simple: “The experiences of three to five-year-olds are mediated by each family’s distinct socio-cultural context and each child’s preferences. The technology did not dominate or drive the children’s experiences; rather their desires and their family culture shape their forms of engagement.”

Therefore, this is the fact that parents and teachers should set up rules on screen time to keep addiction at bay. Also, encourage children to engage in outdoor activities; this may actually make children do what they must do and learn. Hence, to conclude, while there is substantial evidence that children are getting the negative impact of modern technology. The research also suggests children can make the maximum use out of technology, through strategy gaming, exploring the internet, pursuing their dreams, and much more under proper monitoring.

Being a parent we haveto take many important decisions. Once we become parents, all the decisions that we make are with the sole intention of looking for the in Gurgaon for our children. Every minute decision we make is with extreme care. Therefore, to think that an important decision like finding the right school for your child can in no way be taken lightly. Below are some important factors which can help you inidentifying the in Gurgaonfor your child:

Student-Teacher Ratio And Relationship

If you are searching for in Gurgaon, one of the most important factors you will have to take into account is the kind of student-teacher relationship the school offers. This relationship needs to be cordial and loving. The child should feel safe when the teacher is around and should be friendly enough so that he or she is able to share its problems with the teacher.

Concentration on Building A Solid Base

There is no point in teaching the students the name of the prime minister of the country in his or her primary class. At this stage and age, the school needs to focus on providing a strong base on which the child can develop and grow in the future. The teaching methods should be practical and interactive rather than offering bookish knowledge to the kids.

Give Maximum Importance to Certain Subjects – Schools in Gurgaon

While subjects like science, economics, etc., are very important, but these are specialization subjects and not every student requires to learn them. It is subjects like math, English, regional languages, etc., which are very essential for every student to study and understand properly. Therefore, the curriculum of the in Gurgaon would concentrate more on these essential subjects in the initial years. Eventually, allow the kids to make a choice of their preferred specialization stream at an early stage like class 7thor 9th.

Less Importance to Marks
Schools in Gurgaon

Schools in Gurgaon

Marks are only an indicator of how well a student prepares for the test. These marks cannot be considered to be the ultimate reflection on the intellectual level of the student. Schools which pay a lot of attention to the marks and the test scoring system tend to put a lot of pressure on their students, because of which many students who are not able to score high on these tests, end up losing their confidence and sometimes even drop out of schools. Therefore, when searching for a school for your child, you should look for schools which give a lot of attention to the students’ learning. You must avoid sending your child to those schools that give priority to marks.

Enough Playing Time

There is a very popular saying which goes as ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. This is a very important and an absolutely true saying. A school must offer any recess period, or conduct certain fun activities for the kids to participate in, in addition to studies. Otherwise, it will never be able to offer your child the complete growth and development you are looking for. Hence, few schools should be chosen for your kid’s education, since not only do they offer good quality education, but they also provide a lot of extracurricular activities. Furthermore, it allows students to participate in and nurture their other talents.

Look For Quality Not Popularity – Schools in Gurgaon

When searching for a school for your child, make a list ofschools in Gurgaon which matches the individual needs of your child. Do not simply seek for admissions in the most popular school in your city. Popularity does not always guarantee quality. There is a big possibility that the biggest and the most popular school in your town may not be able to offer a loving and caring environment. Thereby actually disrupting his or her growth and development. Hence, choose your child’s school wisely.

Why do we send our children to school? What are our expectations from ? What is the purpose of education? These questions matter a lot when we think of the Indian education system and its impacton society. There are few schools in Gurgaon systematically churning out individuals who are “educated” and have outstanding marks. But at the same time, they are highly unskilled and do not fit into today’s competitive market.

The scenario at such school is English toppers can’t speak a grammatically correct statement. There is no point in such education where students can’t apply their knowledge in daily life situations. The Indian education system is now ready to bring the change in this pattern. Central and state government has introduced a system called Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) for schools in Gurgaon and all over the country.

Schools in Gurgaon: Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

How effective is this system? Has it really changed something? The problem with this system is that the life of student now revolves around exams and tests. Earlier teachers were testing just the end product but now the complete process throughout the session decides the result.

Feedback is important

Teachers give quality feedback. Kids get to learn how they can write better or apply their education in day-to-day life. All this makes them ready for the ‘real world’ which is beyond marks, rubrics and grades.

Purpose of smart education

A student who is successful in is not necessarily successful in life. Today children need an education that not only educates their brain but also their mind and spirit. Smart learning provides holistic learning to prepare students for this fast pacing world. Smart education offers a paradigm shift in the way students’ access to education.

Modern technology helps them with the skills needed for a digital future that that provide ways to lead a successful life. There are in Gurgaon where students learn to interact with fellow students around the world. They collaborate with virtual learning platforms while sitting in one place. This does not only help students but is also beneficial for parents. Teachers keep a record of each student, whether attendance, grade or exam scores. The communication tools keep the parents involved in the learning process.

Smart education keeps in mind the objective to impart training and assesses it accordingly. It provides a continuous improvement by checking the progress against individual learning needs. Learners take care of the learning styles of every individual.

Share smart education

According to research, smart tools contribute to the efficacy of education communication as long as students and teachers are a considerable part of the process. Learning through social media sites like LinkedIn or blogs or mobile learning is democratizing the process of learning. Easy accessibility makes it a quick learning process and gives the option to share with peers and others. This is also known as social learning.

Knowing the fact that each individual student has a unique learning style and capacity, schools in Gurgaon provide an outstanding education. Everyday teachers deal with students various learning capacities. An even bigger challenge is to teach students who are struggling to learn.

Whether it is a or any local , such students are in every part of the country. Therefore, there are effective methods to make learning process easier for such students.

  • Use instructions that suit the learning needs of the students

This strategy requires the teachers to understand the learning needs of the students and develop new ways to fulfill them. This approach makes it possible for the teachers to consider the best ways to learn and assimilate the things taught in class. These might include a greater focus on extra practice, provision of step-by-step instructions.

  • Break down the process into smaller chunks in Schools in Gurgaon

One of the most effective ways to improve the learning of struggling students is helping them learn in small logically organized chunks. The students move from one chunk to another to reach a an objective. The teachers help in bridging any gaps between the chunks with the help of learning tools such as charts, pictures and cue cards. In fact, this method is implemented at a basic level by the teachers teaching at schools in Gurgaon.

  • Teaching with graphics and images in Schools in Gurgaon

It is a well-established fact that graphics and visuals tend to have a lasting impact on the human mind. That is why teaching with the help of graphics and visuals can help in enhancing the learning abilities of weaker students quite significantly. A lot of schools in Gurgaon haveproved the strategy to be equally effective for students of all classes. It also helps the students to map out their thoughts and ideas in a better manner.

  • Focus on keywords and phrases for information retention
Schools in Gurgaon

Schools in Gurgaon

Sometimes teachers from in Gurgaonhelp students by making them focus on some keywords and phrases. The teachers can ask the students to create an image in their mind they associate with a piece of information. This is because remembering an image is easier than remembering the words. Therefore, they just need to remember the image and present the information in their own words.

  • Make use of various sense organs for learning

The use of traditional teaching strategies often proves useless with struggling students. That is why teachers need to find innovative teaching methodologies for such students. One such strategy is the students learn by seeing, hearing, feeling and observing the things happening around them. The teachers can also help the student learn by associating the various concepts with a sensory organ. It provides a distinguishing learning experience.

  • Provide breaks in between the learning process

A good teacher understands the fact that struggling students are always on tenterhooks and focus than the students who are than average ones. This puts their brain under considerable stress and it becomes clogged with information. Given their inherent obvious in studies, it becomes even more important for the teachers to help the brains of such students to relax. The best way to do so is by providing refreshing breaks to the students during a study routine.

  • Appreciate their efforts to motivate them

Nothing works better to help the students learn better by appreciating their efforts of improvement, no matter how insignificant they might be. Therefore, in Gurgaon constantly appreciate their students for even a minor improvement in their performance. It makes them feel valued for their efforts and motivates them to do even better in the future. Even if the students do not show any improvement in academic skills, the teachers should praise their creative and other talents.

Creating education for students in Schools in Gurgaon

Schools in Gurgaon create anenvironment that allows students to take control of their own learning. These schools have highly trained and experienced educators who encourage various learning styles rather than expecting everyone to fit in one. They exactlyknow how to foster an engaging learning environment for students. This learning style allows students to work more independently and construct lessons based on their own learning styles. It gives students the power to tailor their learning experiences that best suits their needs.

There are a lot of schools that default to one-size-fits-all learning approach because of the resources. To create a lesson plan that fits the need of every child is not that simple. It is challenging for one teacher to make sure each student gets the attention. One of the solutions is assigning multiple teachers. Therefore, teachers give time for independent work so that students can find a comfortable place to work on their learning styles and approach a project based on their own strengths. When there are multiple teachers around, they can work at their own pace.

Looking back at the great achievements of students at Lancers , one of the in Gurgaon, we realize how their teaching methods not only help students achieve their greatest potential but also make them confident and secure individuals. By taking part in various activities and projects, students at Lancers, not only learn how to work in teams but also learn about their strengths and how to use them optimally.

Graduation Day at Lancers – One of the Top Schools in Gurgaon

Graduation day comes with a whole host of emotions – it’s a day to celebrate and to reflect on all that the students at Lancers, have learned and made a part of their incredible journey. It’s a bittersweet feeling that’s hard to express in words. It marks the end of a huge beginning, and ushers in a new dawn, brimming over with possibilities yet unexplored.

The batch of 2018 experienced the bitter-sweet feelings associated with the end of a long school journey, paving way for a new chapter in their lives. The student council and Grade 11 students organized a heart-warming graduation ceremony for their beloved seniors. The Directors of the school, the Head of School Mr. Sindhwani, the PYP principal Ms. Villamarin, the MYP and IGCSE coordinator, Ms. Nagpal, the Associate DP coordinator Ms. Vats, parents, students and staff attended the ceremony to mark this glorious occasion.

The emcees for the event were Shivam Marwaha, Rhidhima, Sahithi Marchala and Neha Chauhan. They hosted the event with enthusiasm, sincerity and passion. The ceremony opened with a profound speech by the chief guest, Ms. Lalage Prabhu, whose words of wisdom will indeed leave an indelible mark on the minds on each and every person present during the ceremony. The students received certificates from Mrs. Mann, Mr. Sindhwani and Mrs. Prabhu. Nupur Sehgal had the audience in thrall with an elegant semi-classical performance. Two of the students, Seo and Seulbin, sang two songs in their beautiful voices.

More details..

Anitya, Kelly and Partha mesmerized the audience with a soul-stirring musical performance. A beautiful song about hope and resilience was performed by Prachin and Handaki. Both Archana and Maharaj delivered a powerful speech, in which they reflected on their school days, on lessons learned, memories forged and cherished relationships. It’s fair to say that Lancers, one of the best schools in Gurgaon, made a huge impression on these students and helped shape the way they think, act and reason.

No celebration is complete without a gorgeous feast. Hence, the Graduation Day ceremony at Lancers, one of the top schools in Gurgaon, was followed by a hearty reception at the cafeteria, where the chefs had lovingly prepared a feast for the students, parents and staff. All the teachers and staff wished the graduating students success, as they embark on this new journey full of adventures and glory.

Senior School’s Annual Play at Lancers – One of the Top Schools in Gurgaon

The lights are off, the audience unaware of what to expect; they are holding their breath and are impatiently waiting for the performance to begin. ‘This sacred place,’ as the school’s drama teacher Mr. Raj Kumar calls the stage, is ready for the actors and actresses to share the story of Our Town. Written in 1938 by Thornton Wilder, it is a three-act play, which shows a fictional town in America, between the years 1901 and 1913. It brings to life everyday lives of its citizens.

The script is remarkable in more ways than one. It will surprise you with minimum props and the absence of the curtain. It is the acting, the dialogues and the lights which help reveal the storyline. The students portrayed each role marvelously; acting was realistic and persuasive to an extent that it was difficult to remember it was acting and these people weren’t real people with real concerns! The emotions demonstrated were deep and complex, immersing the viewers and making them feel like they were actually witnessing the tragic events in the play in real life.

Nowhere can all the effort put into staging a play be visible as it is during rehearsals, behind the scenes, and backstage. It’s like a whole new world has come to life. One can see the costumes ready to be put on, make-up being applied, actors nervously pacing to and fro, repeating their lines, changing expressions, props moved and then set into place. It’s all nerves and excitement.

Finally..

In this particular case, the production led by Mr. Raj was a success. It involved a lot of hard work, many weeks of practice and dedication from everyone: the crew members, the young actors and teachers. The students put their hearts into their work, showcased their talent and the audience was able to feel it. Everyone in the audience was so moved by the performance. It was all because the students chose to bring to life these characters with complex inner lives.

It’s moments such as these which make us realize that we’re giving our students at Lancers, one of the , the right kind of education. A perfect blend of academics and other activities such as theatre, which opens our students to a whole new dimension of creativity. It’s also a great way of learning how to work with your peers and learning from one another. Most importantly, theatre is a great way to boost self-confidence and to learn from the characters our students get to play on stage. Theatre is another way for us at Lancers, to initiate dialogue about newer perspectives. Perspectives that are different and add to the learning curve of our students.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is an international foundation for education. IB schools give equal importance to creative and vocational subjects like music, sports, arts and computer science, among many others. Unlike the CBSE curriculum that focuses on learning only from the standard textbooks, IB schools offer a knowledge-oriented approach to their students. Rote learning is not in the books of IB schools. They do not follow a set of predefined textbooks but rather learning and understanding the concepts.

The students get free access to external resources and courses, and examinations maximize understanding of the course materials. IB schools in Gurgaon believe in inquiry-based learning. It is an active learning process students pose questions, problems or scenarios, instead of simply presenting established facts. The aim of IB pedagogy is on ‘how to learn’.
