Imagination is the best design tool there is. It’s a design process, not an outcome. The design of your life and everything in it starts with what you imagine—and then bringing that imagination to life. That’s why top created the ABLE Club: to give kids who want something more from school an outlet for their creativity, knowledge, and curiosity where they can develop skills by making things like masks or costumes for theatre productions.

The ABLE clubs teach design thinking skills like ideation, empathy, design concepts, design methodology, and design process. When a child engages in design thinking, they begin with a relevant question, something that is important to them. After that, they design a solution to the problem.

The design process is broken down into five steps: empathy and research; ideation before sketching designs on paper or digitally; prototyping—making something small at first so you can test it out with others; testing and reflection—taking time to review what worked well in your design and how well your audience receives it.

This design thinking process is something that the ABLE Club will be teaching kids. The club meets four times a month to focus on design thinking skills like ideation, empathy, design concepts, design methodology, and design process. This creative space for children provides them with an outlet in which they can explore their creativity while learning about things that matter to them.

They design a solution, which can be as simple or complex as they want it to be. They then turn that design into something real by making prototypes and testing them out with others. The ABLE Club meets after school for kids who are in grades one through ten; we also run an enrichment program where students continue their design thinking projects after school.

Students can further their design thinking projects by joining design teams that meet after school. These design teams are focused on specific design challenges, such as transportation or food security; they focus their work in these areas and engage with community partners to bring the solutions back to our members.

Top schools in Gurgaon make sure design thinking is an important part of their curriculum. The design process begins with young learners, where students create design challenges for one another and test out different ideas.

What are some design innovations coming from schools at the moment?

  • Designers like Nikhil who have created a modular school bag that can be scaled up or down.
  • Designers like Aarav who created an app to help farmers design their farms more efficiently.
  • Designers like Mishka created a design thinking workshop for non-engineer students to design prosthetics.

The ABLE Club is a club that helps teach your child to use their imagination. It’s about bringing knowledge and creativity together to give kids who want something more from school.

The club is about bringing our student’s thinking to the forefront. We design lessons for them to get creative, design thinking workshops that will help students who are not engineers design prosthetics and other inventions.

ABLE Club is about giving kids a place where they can find their own creativity outside of school time, but with the guidance of experts in design thinking.

Students who enjoy learning design thinking and creativity have a place to channel their interests. It’s about bringing knowledge and creativity together to give kids who want something more from school an outlet in which they can do this.

The ABLE Club is an opportunity for kids from top schools in Gurgaon who are interested in design and design thinking to learn from qualified coaches.

Why is it important to listen to your child?

Listening, as it is, is a difficult thing. And to think of listening to your child seems a challenging task. As the child wants to be listened to, parents should ensure that they listen to their child patiently even when hundreds of things are running through their mind. Teachers across thebest schools in Gurgaonfollow a standard practice of giving time to each child. Children get used to this and expect the same practice at home.

As conducted by research studies, children listen to parents patiently only when parents listen to them. When a child feels listened to, he is more likely to listen, and having been understood, he will understand your point of view as well. It is the responsibility ofschools in Gurgaonto help assist parents and children form stronger bonds and relationships.

Talking and listening to your child holds a lot of significance, as it helps your child build a stronger bond with you and develop his/her trust. It improves the bonding in a relationship and builds a child’s morale and confidence. Generally, parents don’t have the skill to ‘listen’, but with a conscious effort, they can develop it. And slowly, with practice, they can be better accustomed to it.

How DoBest Schools in Gurgaonhelp Parents Actively Listen to their Child?

  • by creating opportunities within the school environment where parents and children have the chance to bond.
  • encourage a child within the class or the school environment to open up. Sharing these thoughtswith the parents, so they can further continue that topic of discussion at home with the child.
  • helping young parents understand the body language and actions of a child, so as to understand the non-verbal forms of his communication.

Lancer conducts various such events/ sessions within its school which helps in enhancing the verbal communication between parents and children. One such event of the school is called a ‘3 Way Conference’. It is held in the primary school once a semester where the parent and the child’s teacher are together in the class. The child uses this opportunity to take his parents and teacher through all the work he has done throughout the semester. This 3 Way Conference brings all the 3 together – the child, the parent, and the teacher. Most importantly its enhances the communication between the child and the parent.

A study conducted by some of thebest schools in Gurgaon– How does listen patiently to your child affect his school life?

Listening is not an easy task, as a parent you would be persuaded to raise your voice and tell your child, he is wrong. It takes a lot of patience to really hear out someone, let alone a child, as you may get to hear something that you are not happy about. However at this point in your child’s life, it isnot about the right or the wrong, it’s about showing that you are there for him/her. Your there to listen and to discuss if he/she wants to. It does require patience but this patience will go a long way in building your relationship with your child. So how do you actively and patiently listen to your child? We believe it is a skill. You can patiently listen by:

  • giving your child your full attention. The phone calls can wait, so does the household work. Let your child know he has your undivided attention
  • focus on what the child is trying to say without forming any opinions or views place yourself in your child’s shoes. Imagine how you would have reacted in the same given situation
  • Avoid questions, which might break the child thoughts
  • Notice your child’s body language and decode the non-verbal signs your child is trying to give
  • Show interest, by nodding or moving gestures

What Are The Negative Effects Of Not Listening To Your Child?

Being parents, you aren’t even aware that your day-to-day behavior affects your child in many ways, shaping his or her future personality. Parents, greatly influence their child’s life intentionally and unintentionally. From the tone of your voice to the words you choose to make your child understand concepts. Your child learns the skills necessary to interact with you – as parents are essentially a child’s first teacher. Children who are not heard during their early years become the ones who never listen. They will always be under the impression that they are unworthy of their parent’s time and attention, and whatever they do, think, or feel is not worthy. This goes on to affect their social and mental development, their ability to make meaningful connections and hence friends. One of the studies which were conducted by some of theconcluded children who are not being heard or being paid attention to are the ones who are extremely insecure in the school environment. Many of them find it hard to interact in a group or build up the confidence to stand up or lead a discussion in the class.

Such children lose confidence and self-esteem, which can be detrimental to their development as young adults. A child who is often judged or criticized for his/her views and thoughts loses interest in sharing and communicating their beliefs to the world.

Some Of The Tips Provided bySchools in Gurgaonto Parents On Talking To Their Child And Listen To Them

Some kids are naturally expressive and they can talk about everything out with their parents. Other kids may need a lot of encouragement to be able to talk. Be open to listening and give your child your unfocused attention. Here are some tips on getting your child to talk to you and be open to listening:

  • You should talk to your child without any interference. Go on an evening walk with your child and ask him/her to talk about the school or the park. Ask questions. You can also take your child to a long drive and talk without any disturbance.
  • Ask questions that would trigger his/her imagination. The more he/she imagines the better the IQ would be in the future!
  • Do not be in a hurry to respond. Let your child finish talking and then respond sensitively. When your child is talking, do not jump in or interfere.
  • Refrain from lecturing your child. Lecturing is a way of putting your view across, while an engaging conversation fosters the child’s own thinking process and conclusions
  • Parents should ensure to make the conversations inspiring for their children. Stories are a perfect way to inspire young kids.
  • Parents should use the language that their child understands. They should avoid using words that he/she may find difficult to comprehend.
  • It is advised to make eye contact with your child to ensure he/she is being heard
  • Parents should show interest in the conversation. Being actively involved in the conversation is extremely important to let the child know that his/her views and opinions do matter
  • Never judge, criticize, blame or get angry over something that your child has done or said. It is advised to patiently introspect the situation
  • When you listen to your child carefully, you get to know what they are thinking, feeling, and going through. Childhood is a phase when children are imbibed with limited vocabulary, so they often find it difficult to communicate their feelings. It is imperative that children be heard so that they do not bottle up their feelings. It also means that children will listen to their parents more because they have been heard. Concluding on the study conducted byschools in Gurgaon, active listening opens up avenues for healthy conversations, boosts relationships, brings comfort, enhances confidence, and helps the child perform better in school.

It is a wonder why the attendance of parents in Gurgaon’s best schools is a significant educational dilemma. The presence of parents in their child’s school life allows students to perform better. It affects the academic and co-curricular success of students during the year. Parents who are actively engaged from the initial stage in their child’s education have a substantial positive effect on the child’s future growth (Muller, 2018).

Children have higher grades and standardized test scores, enhanced behaviour at home and school, improved social skills and adaptation to school when parents are active in children’s schools and education (Chan, n.d.).

Here are several ways through which student performance can be improved.

Attending Teacher–Parent Meets

Attending parent-teacher meetings in Gurgaon’s best schools is an essential part of engaging learning communities. The one who looks for explanations behind the success of the child is an involved parent. With a diminished performance, visiting the school and meeting all subject teachers is advisable for parents. This technique can assist parents in considering different factors influencing the success of the student. Communicating with teachers to hear about theand how they can extend this at home can only add value to the learning. In addition to this, this practice will assist parents in recognizing multiple factors that affect the child’s progress and support the school how to revise accordingly.

Homework and Assignments

A simple act of reviewing the homework of your child every day will make a big difference. Your child needs to be mindful of your presence, making them more attentive to perform better. The lack of encouragement from parents will make young learners vulnerable to bad behaviour (Robins, 2012). Neglecting them may also lead to withdrawal and tension, eventually impacting their success in life.

Engage in Parent Groups

Attending a meeting or engaging in every activity or event coordinated by the school community is challenging for busy working parents. Parents will continue to emphasize their engagement by volunteering at the bestin circle time and other school events.

Progress Logs

Teachers produce regular reports to illustrate the student’s success in Gurgaon’s best schools. This helps parents to learn about day-to-day learning activities. A healthy parent-teacher relationship reflects the involvement of parents in their child’s progress, encouraging them to engage in the school’s curriculum actively. Parents and teachers must be on the same page when discussing the student’s progress and future academic plans.

Play

Children are often more involved in play-based learning and co-curricular activities, and sports. While extra-curricular activities are essential to a child’s growth, equal focus in STEM and language learning should also be considered. Parents need to find enjoyable ways to help students balance learning time. Parents encourage kids to let their imaginative minds breathe along with other academic abilities during fun.

Involvement of Projects in school in gurgaon

Parents should be interested in their children’s ventures and assignments. They should sit together and assist when required in doing the tasks. The value of their academic curriculum should be considered by both parents and give them appropriate moral support. However, parents should always ensure the students do their work independently and help students be confident in asking for help only when they need it.

Support in Social Activities in school in gurgaon

Parents can foster a positive social experience for their children by knowing what activities their children are involved in. If your child plays football, perhaps you could join the team on weekends or volunteer as a coach or cheerleader for the team. By inviting your child’s friends to play at home, you will remain on top of their social life. Knowing your child’s peers and determining whether they are suitable options for him is good.

According to research studies, parental participation at all levels is equally significant as teacher participation. Parents must visit the school to communicate with teachers and hear about the success of their children. Regular visits by parents inspire and empower students and increase their success. Any misconducts and mishaps may also be documented and handled with understanding and care.

When parents are engaged in top schools in Gurgaon, the students learning ability and work can be encouraged. Parent participation in school increases the student’s learning and plays a crucial role in the overall growth of the child’s personality.

Education has always become important with the concept that how much marks are scored by the student in the exams. No one is bothered about the children mindset whether they have understood the subjects or not. HowCOVID 19 in schools affecting students and parents

How are COVID 19 crisis and ensuing lockdown affecting school students in ? Is it correct to assume that they do not understand the gravity of the situation, and as a result, are unaffected by it? In schools in Gurgaon, some students are refusing to attend online classes. The parents have to persuade them to attend the classes.

They look at the screen with a stream of tears running down their cheeks. This shows their highly emotional and disturbed state of mind. Ignoring the teacher’s overtures, they whisper to their mother that they do not want these online class.

They rather wish to go back to school and meet their peers in person and not online.

The young learners are making sense of the changed realities of life in Covid-19 times. Loss of the Comfort Zone COVID-19 pandemic has suddenly and dramatically changed the life of students in schools in Gurgaon. From the comfort of their fixed routine, fun classes, entertaining peer groups, caring teachers, the life of the children has drastically changed to being cooped up in their homes under lockdown.

Loss of the Comfort Zone in COVID 19 in schools

Social distancing has almost created a‘hostage-like’situation for students in schools in Gurgaon. The parents are keeping a strict control over their movements.

How is this change affecting our children and how are they dealing with it?

Symptoms of Stress In the case of school children in , parents and teachers have to be especially observant to notice the tell-tale signs of stress and anxiety. Stress and anxiety are the natural outcomes of the Covid-19 pandemic. The clear indications of stress and anxiety in students are when they appear worried, withdrawn, detached and stop communicating. Young children may show an increased tendency to burst into tears.

Symptoms of Stress

They might throw temper tantrums and cling to their parents. These teenagers suffering from stress and anxiety may experience loss of appetite, headaches, stomach aches. Dealing with Stress In this critical situation, communication is the key.Thekey is to talk to school children and encourage them to share their fears and anxieties.

Ask them what can be done together as a family to be safe. Tell children to recall situations when they had overcome difficulties in the past and express confidence. They should be taught that this time too, they all would be able to remain safe and healthy together. The students along with their parents can plan about their future and career.

This will instil in them the confidence that a solution to the crisis will be found and life soon will be back to normal.
Restoring Normalcy How to help students maintain a positive frame of mind in schools in Gurgaon? It is best to make them follow the routine they had before the lockdown.

Dealing with Stress

Encourage them to pursue their interests, and hobbies and enjoy and appreciate what they do. Make them share household tasks and allow them to be creative and innovative in doing these mundane tasks.

The fun and cheer this will bring will alleviate the stress and gloom.covid 19 in schools. They can also be given the responsibility of assisting the grandparents in their daily chores. Parents should refrain from sharing an overdose of information about the viral outbreak. Taken over by the Virtual World As socialisation has been swapped with digitisation.

The virtual world has replaced most of our real-life connections whether it is school, work, recreation, shopping, fitness etc. all are happening online. How much online time is good for the child? This should be the question every parent and teacher need to consider carefully and also monitor the quality of their online sojourns.

Restoring Normalcy

The Balancing Act The teachers have to strike a balance between online and offline activities of students in schools in Gurgaon . The rule of thumb should be – what can be done offline should be avoided online. Recreational activities like singing, dancing, playing an instrument, painting or doing craftwork should be totally undertaken offline.A family workout, music medley, deep cleaning or cooking session would halve the effort and double the fun quotient.

Primary teachers should try to incorporate ‘fun’ into learning and teachers of senior classes should use the power of ‘humour’to bring cheer in the class. In such stressful times, the interaction of students with the school counsellor would help mitigate stress and anxiety to a great extent.

The School counsellors must continue to help the students who have been pre-disposed to mental health issues prior to COVID-19 and ensure that their condition does not get aggravated.

They should advise parents to carefully monitor their children to look for signs of aggravation and seek help if required. Legacy of The world frantically works to invent a cure for COVID-19. Along, parents and teachers are working together to keep the future generations unscathed and safe from its risks.

Irrespective of the impact COVID-19 on of our life. We should always remember that it brought the families, communities, nations and the entire world together to fight against it and save humanity from the biggest threat it has ever experienced. In our fight with Corona virus the human spirit must emerge more positive, more giving and much stronger!

PREPARE YOUR CHILD’S STUDY AREA

Parents should set up a designated study area for children at home. To be in the right mindset for learning, students need a dedicated study area, away from the bedroom. The study space should have good lighting to avoid eye strain and parents should also ensure to clear the area of any clutter. In productive workspace, students should also be provided with all the learning materials including a calendar to write assignment dates, tests etc. so that they can focus on the tasks at hand. Besides, parents should make sure there is a water bottle on the study table.

Having a separate room allows children the ability to have great storage for school supplies, books, projects and all other school-related items. Having a room devoted to schoolwork also allows children to have virtually limitless options of things they can include.

AVOID DISTRACTIONS DURING STUDYING IN schools in Gurgaon

Distractions during study hours can significantly impact your child’s potential to learn. If there are constant interruptions at home, it is possible that studies may result in only a few hours of quality learning and a poor understanding of concepts even when the study hours were long. To attain efficient knowledge, students need to log out of their social media accounts and switch off other distractions such as online games and television during the study hours.

In between studies, students can take a break and listen to good music as it is proven to increase focus.

Children should also let family and friends know to be considerate when they are studying and keep the area quiet and distraction-free.

STICK TO A SCHEDULE

Due to the virus outbreak, all Preschoolsin Gurgaonare closed down and there are chances that children might develop worst habits of sleeping all day and play video games at home. It’s tempting to sleep all day but children need to understand that it takes 21 days to develop a habit and that they should set their schedule and come out with fertile results. It will be more productive if they treat this period of online learning like a regular school day. The students inschools in Gurgaonare required to log into classes according to their school timetable, which helps with maintaining a routine. Some students also find that putting on their school uniform allows them to stay focused on the school day ahead.

Teacher’s inschools in Gurgaonsuggest students to keep a paper calendar and To-Do List with themselves all the time. Writing down each assignment and when it is due helps students to plan their time better and visually prioritise their workload.

TAKE A BREAK FROM SCREEN TIME

The teachers insuggest that students should use paper and pencil for tasks as much as possible as it is a great way to have a break from the screen and avoid eye strain.

They also lay great stress on exercising regularly. It is also important to get up and stretch regularly. Even if it’s a ten-minute walk or some exercises in the house, students will feel revitalised and rejuvenated after some activity away from the desk.

STAY IN TOUCH WITH TEACHERS

|Schools in GurgaonThe teachers inschools in Gurgaonencourage students to reach out and ask for help when problems come up. It is vital that students communicate clearly and advocate for themselves during this period of online learning.

The students can seek help from their mentors and home room teachers through video conferencing. The school staff should ensure that they are available to listen to and speak with their students on a regular basis during school hours. Besides this, online classes in groups are a great way to check-in with students learning progress, to hear about their day and discuss what they are doing throughout the day.

Whether it’s a group chat or spending more time with students, teachers should make a conscious effort to not allow them to stay isolated. Social connections are essential for good mental health and well-being, particularly during times of stress or anxiety.
